And so the ads have been placed even on the site. Well, I hope that the revenue will be enough to cover hosting expenses. We do not want any "silly" or adult commercial to appear so I must be vey carefull with the words I use. Spider which is used to put the ads check the phrases and words used, and puts ads which are connected to such theme. In general that shuldn't be too much of a problem. The site talk about music, playing tamburitza, singing,... About everything we do... Tradition and national values, I just hope there are enough people interested in such themes.

General and specific informations about tambura and tamburitza will follow soon, as soon as I get them from experts.

Last event

And so the last koncert this season is over. The afterparty was so great that everything ached tomorrow. I catch a cold, so no singing for a several days. Well at least, I can use that time for further work on the page. After adjusting the colour, I must require from the women to design several logos so we can deside which is good. That one will be selected as official logo for our orchestra and choir. Well I'm waiting. See you...

Redesigning

After reviewing several examples I created, votes finally came back. So decision has been made. Our new colour shall be bordo-red, or #330000, named after beautifull red marble from Turkey. And the colour of the main text will be gold, or #FFFF99. This combination does look very nice. It can be seen here.

With that done, I started exploring how to improve ranking of the site on Google. I must admit that it's a painfully slow job. Our main site can already be found on other search engines like ExactSeek, Yahoo, Excite and many others, but Google just doesn't show it.

Beside that there is possibility to make some money, although we are nonprofitable organization. But at least we can earn to cover our expenses. I must talk with the executives about placing AdWords on our site. First we must check for legal obligations and rights, if we are alowed to place commercials.

Further works

Today I realized that color of our main page is not really goood. I mean, it's nice, but it's not practical. So I decided to change it. Well I cannot do it alone so I sent several examples how it could look to other members to decide which they like the most. Now I must wait to see what they think.

And also I started this Adwords, so we'll see how it works.

Well, I'm starting this blog out of pure boredom. I don't have a lot of free time, cause my job does not end when I leave my office. But I'm working on a web page for a music ensemble Trešnjevka. I'm not expert in html or css, but I'm learning on the way.

So what will write here? Lots of information about our national instrument called tambura. Or my strugles with a webpage, or how I'm getting our page to get more and more popular in search engines.
